Waste-to-resource projects

For businesses to thrive, in harmony with people and planet, we develop strategies to achieve circular value chains that fully utilise the resources available in a region.

Whether in manufacturing, production, or food industry, or even agriculture and forestry, by-products, left-overs or waste are to be found. However, just as in nature, waste for one, is a resource for another. We aim to address and convert the notion of waste into that of a resource. This is to be seen as a cross-disciplinary effort, where new partnerships can be formed, and communal value created for different stakeholders, nature included.

Each context is as unique as this process will be. Therefore there is no single storyboard for such a process. Typically we would start with a visit to the facility, where we ask for insight in available data on waste-resources, discuss the data and define what information is needed, visually document the waste-resources and their processes, collect small batches of the waste-resources, and we discuss the aims the project. We assemble a team suited to the specific project, including people of the partner company, BiomimicryNorway, and external experts if relevant. Collaboratively we plan what services and actions are best suited to advance the project.

This process requires trust and a level of transparency, to be clearly communicated, to assure a responsible handling of information for all parties involved throughout the entire project.

If you are interested in exploring this possibility, contact us for a talk about this. This can also be a meeting in person or online.
